Megan Dick’s interest in the law was sparked after she joined AWS Legal as an office junior in 1997.

Her colleagues at the firm were quick to see her potential, supporting and encouraging her through the beginnings of a legal executive course and, then, when she wanted to go further, through her university studies.

“The work I was doing really interested me, so I decided to put my nose to the grindstone and become a lawyer,” she says.

Six short years after starting at AWS Legal as an office junior, she took on her role as a Solicitor with the Private Client Team.

“I enjoy the people that we deal with,” she says.

“Most of our clients are facing new challenges and being able to help them through it is great.”

The majority of her work involves estate administration, family trusts and conveyancing, while an interest in relationship property has also developed.

Relishing the challenge of deadlines, Megan takes a hands-on approach to her job.

“I like to see things done a certain way and know everything is as it should be, because it’s the detail that’s important,” she says.

Away from the office, Megan enjoys netball, both as a player and coach, volleyball and reading.

Her interest in literature grew during her university days, and she completed several classics papers alongside her law degree.

“When I’m 60 I’ll go back and finish my classics degree,” she says.
