Whether it’s the sale of your home or a multi-million dollar farm, the challenge remains the same for AWS Legal Partner Toni Green – she thrives on helping her clients achieve their goals.

“It’s routine for me to be switching from a large-scale farming operation to a residential property purchase – each is just as important to that client and to me,” she says.

Since joining the AWS Legal ranks in 1994, the Otago University graduate has established an impressive array of legal skills, focusing mainly on urban and rural property transactions, luxury resort developments, subdivisions, wills, estate planning and trusts.

“I haven’t stuck to one specific area – I enjoy both property and personal law too much to choose one over the other.”

Her broad legal expertise saw her make Partner in 2002.

Along with various rural and urban roles, Toni, a Southland District Law Society Council Member, enjoys the commercial scene, particularly advising the property development sector.

“I enjoy getting out in the field to see what’s being built – not just sitting at my desk processing the paper work and dealing with other solicitors.”

Combining her passion for law and sport, Southland has reaped the benefits of Toni’s knowledge. She served as a Trustee of Sport Southland for five years and is currently a Director of Stadium Southland.

“It’s very rewarding being part of something that’s so valuable for the Southland community,” she says.

In 1999, Toni was selected as a member of a Rotary Group Study Exchange and spent time working in law firms in the United Kingdom, researching their sport and property transaction laws.

Outside the office, Toni, who is a member of the Otatara Kindergarten Committe, stays on the go. She dedicates her time to family and sport – running, cycling, triathlons, yoga and the gym.
