Chris Peddie enjoys the variety that stems from his mix of business and rural clients.

“I love doing both commercial and rural law the two sectors provide very different people to deal with on a daily basis,” he says.

After graduating from Canterbury University in 2001 with a double degree in law and science, Chris was attracted to AWS Legal by its excellent reputation.

He joined the ranks at the Invercargill head office and was rewarded for his enthusiasm and hard work with Associate status just three years later. Chris became a Partner in April 2006.

Working predominantly with the Business Team, Chris specialises in conveyancing, financing, establishing companies, commercial documentation, leases and trust work. His skills also see him regularly seconded to the Rural Team.

Chris enjoys interacting with clients and meeting their diverse legal needs.

“My job’s about making sure everything goes smoothly and ensuring continued success for my clients,” he says. While there is not a lot of demand for his science skills in the commercial world, Chris finds it an asset in the rural environment.

“It can be useful to have that knowledge, particularly in my work with the dairy industry,” he says.

Outside the office, Chris is involved with rugby and also enjoys biking and a variety of social sports.
