Alice is an experienced commercial and rural lawyer who, before joining AWS Cromwell in 2018, practiced for 5 years in a well known Dunedin law firm.
Admitted in 2013 Alice has a wide scope of experience including succession, property transactions, terms of trade, commercial restructure, business sales both shares and assets, shareholders agreements and so much more. Her passion lies in the commercial and rural areas where she prides herself of getting in, listening and giving good, practical, easy to understand legal advice tailored to the clients specific needs. She enjoys working with new businesses and helping them grow without the stress of worrying about their legal affairs as well as helping well established businesses reach their full potential. In order to make sure she is able to provide the best service available Alice prides herself on developing good networks with accountants, bankers and business advisors to make sure a team approach is utilised where possible to get the best results for the client.
Alice is a born and bred Central Otago girl with her family owning a high country station in Alexandra and having grown up on various farms in Southland and South Otago. She spent every holiday working on the farm with her father or as a rousie for the local crutching gang so has the hands on experience with farming that is important when relating to her rural clients. Alice enjoys getting out to the farms and local businesses to see the businesses in action and then sitting down with the client to discuss their legal needs in their own environment as it is a great excuse to pull on the boots and get out of the office while delivering the service she is so passionate about.
When she isn’t in the office you are likely to find Alice climbing a mountain or anywhere there is an adventure to be had. She is excited to be back in her home region and is looking forward to getting involved in the local squash club and various community groups to experience everything Central Otago has to offer.
