Human Resources Manager

Fixed-term – 12 months

AWS Legal is one of the South Island’s largest law firms with around 65 employees plus partners working in offices throughout Southland and Otago. Due to parental leave, we have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their HR career.

In this recently created sole charge role you will be responsible for leading and driving AWS Legal’s people and culture strategy. This involves managing our day to day human resources functions including recruitment, development and review of policies and procedures, driving the performance review process and providing generalist HR and health and safety guidance and support.

You will be excited about helping us to create a positive culture in which our employees have the capability and passion to succeed, understand our purpose and most importantly enjoy coming to work each day!

To be successful in this role you will have a qualification in HR and previous experience in an HR generalist role – this role could be a great step up for an HR Advisor or similar!

You will love working with people and building solid and credible working relationships.

Our preference is that the role is full-time, however we would be willing to negotiate part-time hours for the right candidate.

Solicitor – Commercial/ Corporate

Are you looking for the next step in your career in an established and well respected law firm? We may have the role for you!

AWS Legal is one of the South Island’s largest and most highly-regarded practices operating offices throughout Southland, Otago and Canterbury. We are currently looking for two Solicitors to join our team in Invercargill.

The first role is with our Business team and would suit someone with at least two years post qualification experience with a commercial focus. In this role you will be involved in a range of general commercial and property work, with exposure to employment law as well.

The second role is with our Corporate team and will have a focus on property and company law. This role would suit a candidate with up to 12 months post qualification experience.

To be successful in either of these roles you will have excellent communication skills and understand the importance of developing strong client and community relationships.

Most importantly, you will be excited to join a great team with a diverse knowledge base, in a role with real opportunities to grow and develop.

Being a large and diverse firm, succession planning is key to ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional service and stay at the front of our game. With this in mind, we are currently looking for a 4+ PQE Lawyer who is motivated to expand their career and committed to playing a key role in the future of AWS Legal.

Based in the heart of beautiful Queenstown, you will be involved in a range of matters spanning private client, property, trusts and commercial law. You will join a great team with a diverse knowledge base providing plenty of opportunities to grow and develop.
